Did You Know? - A triskele, or triskelion, is a motif consisting of a triple spiral exhibiting rotational symmetry. It is derived from a Greek word meaning "three legs" and is an ancient Celtic symbol. It is carved into the stone near the entrance of Newgrange in County Meath, Ireland.
About the Artist - Tracy Gilbert is a Dublin-based designer and maker of handcrafted jewelry. Tracy is immensely proud of her Irish heritage. She creates original designs that reflect Ireland's artistic and mythological traditions. Many of her pieces feature a contemporary twist on traditional Celtic symbolism. Her use of translucent materials and precious metals is a striking feature of her designs. A designer and perfectionist, Tracy won the best student award at the School of Jewellery in Ireland.
