Did You Know? Legend has it that the Claddagh symbol was originated by a seaman from Galway, Richard Joyce. He created the Claddagh ring, which for centuries was used as a wedding ring by the villagers of Claddagh, which was nestled just outside the walls of Galway in the west of ireland.
