Is your love deep and eternal? Express it with the gift of this beautiful decorative wall tile bearing the lover’s knot, an ancient Celtic design. The tile is made by hand from free-form stoneware clay, painted with two coats of vibrant green glaze, and topped with a final coat of clear glaze. The careful choice of clay and glazes and the firing technique combine to produce the brilliantly rich coloring and the subtle crazing reminiscent of ancient pottery.
• Handcrafted from stoneware clay, glazed, and kiln-fired
• 7-1/2 inch square, mounted on black-stained wood frame
• Comes with wall-mounting bracket and tile stand for wall or table display
• Handcrafted by Wild Rose Pottery
• Imported from Manitoba, Canada
Did You Know? The Celtic lover’s knot is also known as the eternal knot. The unending intertwined pattern represents the loving relationship between two people. The circle around the knot signifies protection, spiritual unity, and a connection that cannot be broken.
About the Artists. Wild Rose Pottery has been making unique, handcrafted stoneware wall tiles for more than 30 years. This family-owned pottery studio was established by Maureen and Barry Payne in 1978 on their country property about 20 miles northeast of Winnipeg, Canada. Maureen is the original potter in the family, having trained in England before emigrating to Canada in 1967. She graduated with an Advanced Ceramic Diploma from the Cambridge Institute & Balls Park College Hertfordshire. She has been practicing her art continuously since that time, primarily making stoneware pottery. Although Barry received a physics degree from University of Leicester, UK, and his career was in the aerospace industry, he has always been active in pottery, with a particular interest in raku and handmade tile designs.
